Under Doctor Wiki

The Doctor Named Haiji is the first chapter of the Under Doctor manga series, written and illustrated by Kyo Tanimoto. It was released on January 26, 2026.

Summary

The chapter begins with Big Air Flight 51 traveling from Singapore to Tokyo. A passenger suddenly falls ill with severe stomach pain, which makes the crew call for a doctor. Dr. Makoto Ishiguro, a famous doctor and the Director of Mikage University Hospital, steps forward. He diagnoses the patient with food poisoning and recommends the plane turn back, as the patient cannot withstand the six-hour flight to Tokyo without hospital treatment. Haiji, then rushes to the scene, He instantly corrects the diagnosis, noting the patient's headache stems from his spine, not just his stomach. Without doing any tests, Haiji performs "acupressure" on the patient, normalizing his pulse and alleviating the pain immediately. Haiji then deduces the patient didn't have food poisoning but had instead ingested a stimulant. Haiji reveals his unique ability, he can physically "see" weak points in the human body as glowing lights. He can distinguish between innate vital points and acquired issues like wounds or diseases based on light patterns with this ability. After that, the flight is hijacked by armed men demanding 20 billion yen, and threatening to crash the plane in Tokyo if their demands aren't met. Haiji carried Dr. Ishiguro to safety near the cargo hold amidst all of the chaos. After Dr. Ishiguro wakes up, he reveals that he was shot twice by the hijackers. While his organs are safe, his veins are damaged, and he is bleeding out. Haiji prepares to perform surgery using tools in the cargo hold. However, Dr. Ishiguro warns that the operation will take 90 minutes. Believing the hijackers will find them before then, Dr. Ishiguro urges Haiji to abandon him and escape to save himself. Haiji then goes and fights the hijackers, with Haiji coming out on top and leaving through a parachute. [1]
